Zhejiang Yuantong Wire & Cable Manufacturing Co.,Ltd. Wins Second Prize at Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards for Breakthrough in Fire-Resistant Cable Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n

On November 22, 2024<\/strong>, at the Mobilization and Deployment Conference for Accelerating the Construction of an Innovative Zhejiang and Developing New Quality Productive Forces Based on Local Strengths<\/strong>, as well as the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Awards Conference<\/strong> held in Hangzhou, the project jointly declared by Zhejiang Yuantong Wire & Cable Manufacturing Co.,Ltd.<\/strong> and Zhejiang Zhongda Yuantong Special Cable Co.,Ltd.<\/strong>, titled \u201cKey Technologies and Industrialization of Efficient Manufacturing for Low-Temperature Ceramicizing Insulation Fire-Resistant Cables\u201d<\/em>, was awarded the Second Prize of Zhejiang Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project emerged as one of the highlights of the conference, showcasing the strong technological capabilities and innovation leadership of Wuchan Zhongda Group\u2019s cable division.<\/p>\n

This award-winning project represents a major breakthrough in fire-resistant cable manufacturing. It successfully developed a unique process for low-temperature<\/strong> rapid ceramicization, enabling flexible cables to maintain fire resistance at 750\u00b0C<\/strong>. A specially designed vertical magnesium oxide filling system<\/strong> was also developed, making the large-scale production of kilometer-grade rigid fire-resistant cables<\/strong> possible for the first time in China. The project\u2019s technological indicators have reached internationally advanced levels<\/strong>, filling key gaps in the domestic market.<\/p>\n

To date, the project has obtained multiple domestic and international patents<\/strong>, including one U.S. invention patent<\/strong>, one German utility model patent<\/strong>, six Chinese invention patents<\/strong>, and ten utility model patents<\/strong>, as well as two academic publications<\/strong>. On the industrial side, the project has significantly boosted production efficiency\u2014achieving a 99-fold increase<\/strong>, reducing costs by 15%<\/strong>, and reaching a 99.5% product qualification rate<\/strong>. It is the first time that defect-free, low-temperature ceramicized fire-resistant cables<\/strong> have been mass-produced globally, giving the company a leading position in China\u2019s market and delivering considerable economic and social value.<\/p>\n
